At Teach a Kid to Fish we are passionate about helping families discover the joy of fishing together. We hope to empower anyone to be able to catch fish confidently and safely with children whether they are experienced anglers or this is their first time fishing. We mindfully selected equipment that creates a great experience for the teacher, the child and the fish.

Our story began with a simple act of friendship: one of our founders, who grew up fishing, taught the other founder the techniques and joy of fishing close to home. From there they now regularly enjoy fly, salt, surf and freshwater fishing as two families with growing children who, of course, love to fish too!

Over the years, this recreational hobby turned into a shared mission. We realized that there were so many families out there eager to introduce their kids to fishing, but the learning curve could feel daunting. That's when we decided to make it easier—by offering high-quality, storage friendly fishing rods, tackle, and simple, beginner-friendly videos. Our introductory kits always include a net and pliers to make the experience as handsfree, as possible, for both you and the fish.
